Who we are
  • Duane Mansveld and Miriam Beau are Streetworkers with PAX- Communauté de la Rue, a ministry that exists to help the homeless and marginalized of Montreal connect to God, to others, and to the world, and a ministry of l’Association d’Église Baptiste Évangélique du Québec, and Missions Door.

They have been ministering to the street community of Montreal since 1993, first with Operation Mobilisation and then after receiving the call to work closer with the local church. Duane and Miriam began the street ministry with AÉBÉQ.

Duane has also worked in different community organisations such as Chez Ma Cousine Evelyn, an aids hospice specializing in homeless aids patients with mental health issues, and active drug problems, and with Dialogue a streetwork program of the Downtown YMCA. Duane is a member of l’Association des travailleurs et travailleuses de rue du Québec, and now sits as Vice-president of the board of directors for Sidalys an organisation that manages two aids hospices and subsidized housing for aids patients.

Duane, his wife Miriam, and son Jérémie live in the Village, in downtown Montreal.
